Abstract

1,136,387. Knitting-machines. J. C. DOUGHTY. 1 May, 1967 [1 Feb., 1966], No. 19842/67. Divided out of 1,136,386. Heading D1C. A single stationary cylinder machine, in contradistinction to the double bed machine of the parent Specification has contra-rotating cam systems and reciprocatory or oscillatory yarn feeders such that spaced groups of needles can produce fabric blanks which can be fashioned on the groups of needles by knitting simultaneously yarns fed in opposite to each group of needles by commencing the knitting at each end of a group and causing the feeders to pass one another within the group of needles. The cam systems are caused to operate sections of needles within the groups and to pick up and disconnect the feeders in turn to feed the yarns and effect their being knitted and at the end of each group one cam system disengage the feeders and permit them to be traversed by the other cam system in the opposite direction.
