Abstract

1,136,223. Fence and gate posts. SWYFTITE Ltd. 21 Dec., 1966 [25 Oct., 1965], No. 44999/65. Heading E1B. A fence post 10 and adjacent gate post 18 are respectively pivoted to a common ground anchor 13 and are adjustably spaced at their upper ends by a perforated bar 21 whereby the gate post can be adjusted to a vertical position irrespective of a slight inclination of the fence post. As shown each post comprises a pair of spaced angle irons, the fence post 10 being supported by splayed struts 15 and an adjustable tie bar 17, while the gate post is supported by lateral stays 19. The gate post may be provided with hinges 23 or, alternatively, with gate-fastening means. The fence post shown has straining devices 12 for fence wires 11 passing between its angle irons.
