Separators.-In a sheet feeding machine employing a suction member 13, and air blast members, e.g. sheet-loosening nozzle 15 and a blowing nozzle 16, a device for controlling the flow of suction and pressure air to these members comprises pump 21, a suction conduit 8 connecting the suction side of the pump to the suction member, a pressure conduit 9 connecting the pressure side of the pump to the air blast members and a valve means 2 settable selectively into a position opening conduits 8 and 9 for the flow of pressure and suction air to their respective members and into a position interconnecting conduits 8 and 9 on the side thereof leading to the pump 21 for closing a direct flow path from the pressure side of the pump to the suction side.
