Abstract

1,134,931. Moulding building elements. G. DZIUK. 10 Jan., 1966 [11 Jan., 1965], No. 1129/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1 A method of manufacturing prefabricated wall panels incorporating domestic supply and discharge components such as gas and water mains and conduit 1-10 for ventilation and other purposes, comprises first securing the components in an open mould box 43 having thermoplastic-lined inner surfaces 53 by means of an expansible curable plastics material, closing the mould box and then filling it with a second quantity of an expansible curable plastics material. By using mixtures containing polyisocyanate the expanded plastics material is converted into a polyurethane foam. A facing of tiles, slabs or metal strips may be placed in the mould box to form an outer lining of the wall panel; alternatively the formed panel may be coated with a paste of P.V.C. The mould box may be of metal, glass reinforced cured polyester resins, wood or combinations thereof; the lining may be of polypropylene polybutylene, P.V.C., polyacrylates or polystyrenes applied as sheets or by a spray gun. A parting agent may be applied to the lining while heavy spar (BaSo 4 ) may be added to the plastics moulding material to improve soundproofing.
