Abstract

1,134,737. Dispenser for flexible sheet material. BRITISH CELLOPHANE Ltd. 31 Aug., 1967 [1 Sept., 1966], No. 39136/66. Heading A4G. A container 3 for a roll 2 of flexible sheet material 1 withdrawable through opening 5 with hinged closure flap 7 carries a detachable high impact polystyrene cutting device 9 comprising blade with serrated cutting edge, spaced fingers 13 with sharpened ends 14 for insertion through holes or weakened areas 10 into the top wall 6 of the container, each finger having a cranked portion 18 parallel to the rib 15 along the length of the blade so that spaced channels 17 are formed. The cutting device is inserted fingers first from above into the top wall 6 (Fig. 7, dotted lines) and turned through 90 degrees (Fig. 7, solid lines) so that the channels 17 contain the end of side wall 16 and the fingers 13 lie against top wall 6, to hold the device in place against downward pressure on the blade 12 when an end length 8 of the flexible sheet is cut off.
