Abstract

1,134,548. Suitcase handle. ANTLER Ltd. 21 Aug., 1967 [1 Sept., 1966], No. 39059/66. Heading A4G. The plastics body 1 of a suit-case handle is secured to the metal or plastics plate of a cushion grip 2 either by a rib 11 running the length of the grip and engaging a slot in the underside of the handle or by a pair of projections on the grip engaging holes in the handle, or by a pair of spigots on the handle engaging barbed holes in the grip. In the first case, the rib may carry metal barbs 12 (Fig. 2) or U-shaped clips with metal barbs may be mounted within the slot in the handle, Figs. 9 to 11 (not shown) or the rib may frictionally engage an undulating slot, the rib being either smooth, Figs. 4 to 6 (not shown), or carry integral barb, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown). In the second case, the projections on the ribs may be bifurcated plastics rivets (26), Fig. 12 (not shown), nylon shanks (28) carrying annular ribs (29), Fig. 14 (not shown), self tapping rivets (32), Fig. 15 (not shown), bulbous nylon studs (34), Fig. 16 (not shown) or the two inclined projections (38) with triangular cross-section slightly further apart than corresponding sockets (39), Figs. 19-21 (not shown).
