Abstract

944,081. Portable cots. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. Feb. 14, 1963 [Feb. 27, 1962], No. 7568/62. Heading A5X. [Also in Division A4] A baby's carrier, moulded in one piece from polypropylene or polystyrene has spaced apertures 16 in its base 11 and pairs of coaxial bores 15 formed at or adjacent the junctions of side walls 12 and base 11, and lugs 12a formed with holes 12b in the turned over edge of walls 12. The bores 15 may be formed in a U-shaped ridge 14 secured to the under surface of base 11. For handles a supporting frame 17 is used with projections 17c engaging holes 12b and a locating member 17d engaging one of the apertures 16 with the two projections 17c being connected together by a locking element 18. The carrier can be propped up against the back of a chair with the supporting frame 17 used as a hook over the back of the chair. The frame 17 can be used to support the carrier tilted by inserting the projections 17c in bores 15 and the locating member 17d in an aperture 16. To form a portable cot, two carriers can be joined together, Fig. 6, with a tongue 23 on one engaging the free end of the other and straps 24 engaging apertures 27, 28.
