Abstract
1,134,378. Louvre arrangements for window openings. METAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 7 Aug., 1967, No. 36075/67. Heading E2M. A louvre arrangement for a window opening is illustrated with reference to Fig. 1 and comprises a series of glass or other blades movable in unison, the blade holders of the blades being secured to pivot members 2 mounted for rotation in the jambs 1, in one or each of said jambs the pivot members being connected by links 3 pivoted at 4 to an operating bar 5 housed within the jamb, an operating fever 6 being provided' and pivoted intermediate its length (at 7) to the operating bar and its end carrying a projection 9 which is disposed in a slot 10 provided in the jamb or in a member 11 fixed to the jamb, the arrangement of the slot being such that at one end thereof the slot provides a fulcrum region 12 for the projection, which fulcrum region is disposed substantially in a first line joining the pivot points of all the pivot members 2 on the jamb, and at or near its other end the slot providing a further region 13 to which the projection is retracted when the operating lever is rotated about 7, the projection, when in this further region, being disposed sufficiently remote from the said line to prevent opening of the blades by direct manual operation thereon. The slot preferably is so dimensioned that, when the projection is in the further region, the projection lies on a second line joining the pivot points 4 of the links, or lies more remote from the first said line than is the second said line.
