Abstract

113,402. Beacon, E. July 27, 1917. Circular-saw machines.-In a machine for sawing or cutting bars, rods, &c. into lengths, the bar is gripped by a split bush d<2> of which the upper part is pressed down by a screw against the action of springs, and a slide b is pushed along guide-bars b<1> by a hand-lever g and a link g<1> so that a saw f carried by it severs the work. The work is positioned by a stop i of adjustable length carried by a swinging arm i<2> pivoted at i<3> to the slide b and controlled by a radius rod i<4> pivoted at i<5> to the bed of the machine, so that the stop is swung away from the end of the bar while the severing is effected. Long bars may be supported at a distance from the clamp d<2> by an adjustable stand h, Fig. 5. A guard f' is placed over the saw, which is rotated by a belt pulley on its shaft.
