Abstract

1,133,599. Suction and pressure cleaning apparatus. R. E. COX. 1 Nov., 1967 [2 Nov., 1966], No. 49141/66. Heading A4F. Vehicle cleaning apparatus, particularly for cleaning buses, comprises a movable platform 11 for supporting a cleaning operator externally of the vehicle 10 to be cleaned, means, such as suction fan apparatus 14, for applying suction to an opening through which passengers normally enter or leave the vehicle, means for directing in a downwardly inclined direction an air flow induced by the suction apparatus through an opening 15 longitudinally spaced from the aforesaid opening, and at least one compressed air probe 22 which can be inserted through the opening 15 and traversed along the length of the vehicle by an operator on the platform 11 to assist movement of rubbish towards the suction apparatus. The means for directing the air flow through the opening 15 comprises a piece of flexible material 20, e.g. canvas, suspended from a bar 19.
