Abstract
1,133,258. Loading a silo on to a vehicle. WINGET Ltd. 16 Nov., 1967 [17 Nov., 1966], No. 51605/66. Heading B8E. A silo S is loaded on to a vehicle by ropes R1, R2 passing from winches 8, 9 on one side to corresponding fixed points on the opposite side of the silo. The rope R1 passes from its winch 8 over a pulley 10 at the silo base, over pulleys 11, 12 laterally spaced on the vehicle floor to be anchored at 13 on the other side of the silo base while the rope R2 passes from its winch 9 over a pulley 14 about the middle of the silo container 1 over pulleys 15, 16 laterally spaced on the vehicle floor to be anchored at 17 opposite the pulley 14. To load the silo the rear of the vehicle is brought into contact with the silo and the winches are operated to tilt the silo to the position of Fig. 3 from which it can be brought to a horizontal position on the vehicle and then drawn forward into a transport position. To unload, the silo is drawn rearwards by the winch 8 until stops 7 contact rollers 6 at the rear of the vehicle from which position slackening of the rope R2 and tightening of the rope R1 again tilts the silo to the position of Fig. 3 from which position further actuation of the winches 8, 9 erects the silo.
