1,133,079. Vehicle suspension units. RENAKWERKE VEB. 13 Sept., 1966, No. 40821/66. Heading F2S. In a shock-absorber leg comprising a main coil support spring, not shown, which surrounds a piston and cylinder shock-absorber 1 having a protective outer sleeve, not shown, an auxiliary spring 6 is constrained between the upper end of the piston-rod, and a resilient spring seating member 2 which has a depending flange 4 at its lower end to receive the upper end of the cylinder and is in the form of a sleeve having one or more transverse bores 7 on grooves 8. The main bore of the sleeve receives the piston-rod with clearance, the upper end having a discontinuous conical recess which receives the lower end of the spring 6. A flared skirt 3 on the flange 4 is adapted to guide the outer protective sleeve, not shown.
