A dental burr of hard tungsten carbide steel comprises a cutting head CH projecting from a tapered shank 2, the head being formed as a truncated cone shaped part 4 and a partspherical part 5, cutting teeth on the part 5 extending partly across the part 4. As illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 (not shown); the surfaces of the cutting teeth are curved in a particular manner. Suitable dimensions for the burr are given.
