A multi-ply bag has at least one layer (but not the outer layer) of a resilient cellular material so that the bag is self-sealing when punctured. The cellular layer may be a polyurethane foam or other foamed plastics or rubber. Further layers may be of fabric or woven material, or of plastics film or paper. Further layers of cellular material may be provided.
