Abstract
1,132,740. Transistor oscillating circuits. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 22 Aug., 1967 [29 June, 1966], No. 29065/66. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H2] In an inverter, current through an inductor L 1 , L 2 , L 3 rises exponentially until a relay A operates, removing a shunt circuit from a capacitor C in series with the inductor. The inductor and capacitor then form a resonant circuit, the current through the inductor and the voltage across the capacitor changing sinusoidally. The voltage across the capacitor rises towards a peak energizing relay B and the current through the inductor falls to release relay A. After the peak is passed the voltage across the capacitor commences to fall until relay B releases to short-circuit the capacitor, and the cycle then recommences. The inductors may be tuned to reject unwanted harmonics. The relays may be replaced by transistor switches.
