Abstract

113,263. American Die Casting Co., (Assignees of Tarbert, C. W.). Feb. 9, 1917, [Convention date]. Moulds; clamping.-Relates to moulds provided with means for ejecting the casting and consists in a two-part mould in which the ejector forms a part of the matrix when the half-moulds are together, and which ejects the casting from both when they are separated. The flask 2 is guided by rods 6 attached to the other flask. On each rod is a rack in gear with a pinion carried on a shaft 8 mounted in brackets attached to the flask 2. The ejector 12 is cylindrical, and is shaped at its centre to form a part of the matrix. It has at each end a head 17, 18 moving! in enlargements 14, 15 in the flasks, closed by plugs 22, 23. The flasks are separated by rotating the pinions by means of a lever 11. Should the casting adhere to either flask it is detached by the head 17 or 18 coming in contact with the shoulder 19 or 20.
