A concrete cover 64 for an electrolytic cell, e.g. for the electrolysis of hydrogen chloride, has applied to its internal surface a protective covering 66 of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride. The cell cover shown is provided with electrolyte inlet 18, chlorine and hydrogen outlets 24, 28 and an analyte level sight tube 68.
