Abstract

1,132,190. Tape recorders. PLESSEY-UK Ltd. 22 Oct., 1965 [28 Oct., 1964], No. 3092/68. Divided out of 1,131,222. Heading G5R. An electromagnetic selecting mechanism suitable for actuating the forward and reverse tape feeding controls of a tape recorder comprises a link 23 which may be pulled to the left by a solenoid 24 or to the right by a solenoid 25, a latch 27 being mounted in light spring contact with a projection 28 on link 23 to hold the link in either one of these actuated positions, the latch 27 being releasable by a solenoid 26 to permit link 23 to be returned to a neutral position by biasing means such as compression springs. A pivot-pin 29 is mounted on link 23 so that movements of the link are transmitted to an external device such as a rocking plate which carries forward and reverse tape drive capstans.
