Abstract

1,131,863. Conveyers. GEBR. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK u. EISENGIESSEREI m.b.H. 16 Nov., 1966 [19 Nov., 1965], No. 51255/66. Heading B8A. Means for connecting sections 1 of channel shape of a face conveyer comprises a pair of superposed lugs 3, 3<SP>1</SP> fixed to the sides and near the ends of the conveyer sections 1 and a fishplate 4 placed between these lugs. The fishplate 4 is held to one of the sections 1 by a longitudinally split resilient hollow spring pin 5 extending through the lugs 3, 3<SP>1</SP>. The ends 6, 6<SP>1</SP> of each fish-plate 4 are wider than the vertical distance between the lugs 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and act to limit the range of horizontal swivelling movement between the sections 1, 1. The fish-plate 4 has a tapered cross-section to facilitate the desired relative movement both in the horizontal and in the vertical planes. Stressing of the pin 5 is prevented by the widened end 6 of the fishplate 4 resting on the side faces of adjacent lugs 3, 3<SP>1</SP> while a nose 7 on the fish-plate bears on the side wall of the conveyer to prevent pivoting about the pin 5. The trapezoidally shaped overlap 8 of one bottom of a section 1 on the bottom 9 of the adjacent section 1, tapers towards its end and is formed and dimensioned so that it also limits the relative horizontal swivelling movement of the sections 1. The deflected section 1 is accordingly not able to press against the fish-plate 4, see Fig. 3.
