Abstract

1,130,959. Building blocks. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 6 Dec., 1966 [9 Dec., 1965], No. 54467/66. Heading A6S. [Also in Divisions G5 and H1] A building block of the type having spigots and sockets which are sufficiently resilient to remain interlocked with similar blocks when assembled, each block being equipped with one or more electrical components, includes a switch comprising a plurality of leaf-type spring contacts and an actuating knob, the springs being attached to conducting spigots on the block and being mounted within the block, and the knob being attached to a rectangular slide plate trapped between a surface of the block and the springs, the slide being capable of longitudinal sliding movement over said springs to actuate them, and the knob projecting through an aperture in said surface. As illustrated the knob 7 causes leaf-type spring contact plates 2a or 2b to engage with contact plates 3a or 3 respectively. The contact plates are connected to the spigots 4 and include tags 5. The block includes a bottom plate (6) (Fig. 2 not shown). The knob 7 of a make-break switch (Fig. 3 not shown) includes a push button (1) so arranged that upon actuation, when the switch is in its break position, the switch can be momentarily closed.
