Abstract

1,130,940. Roller conveyers. SCHLOEMANN A.G. 20 April, 1967 [30 April, 1966], No. 18189/67. Heading B8A. [Also in Division G1] Steel billets arriving at an inspection station are retarded so that they are brought into endwise contact with one another as they pass through the inspection station and are then accelerated after leaving the inspection station. V-profile drive rollers 3a at the input end of the inspection station are driven at a slower speed than feed rollers 1 and rollers 13a at the output end of the inspection station are driven with a soft torque at a slower speed than rollers 3a. Delivery table rollers 14 are driven with a peripheral speed greater than the speed of transit of the billets through the inspection station. Three pairs of guiding rollers 15, 16, 17 are provided. Rollers 18 can move up and down to suit bent billets. All the rollers are of V-shaped profile.
