Abstract

1,130,751. Vibratory mechanisms. SINEX ENG. CO. Ltd. 23 Dec., 1965 [23 Sept., 1964], No. 38820/64. Heading F2X. [Also in Division H2] A rotary vibrator, which may be used to maintain a flow of unset concrete through the neck of a feed hopper, is driven by a two or multi-speed A.C. induction motor, the speed of which may be altered by pole changing to produce vibrations of different frequency. The stator winding of a single speed motor may be modified so that three leads L 1 , L 2 and L 3 are joined to the terminal board to provide fourpole operation and to one another, with the coil centres connected to the terminal board, to provide two-pole operation. To provide the necessary six groups of coils, the stator may have 18 coils series connected in groups of three. Synchronous speeds of 2850 and 1425 r.p.m. are provided by two and four-pole operation and of 950 and 1425 r.p.m. by four and sixpole operation.
