Abstract

1,167,582. Oscillating motors and generators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 2 Jan., 1967 [21 Jan., 1966], No. 13/67. Heading H2A. [Also in Division G3] In a clock having an electric synchronous driving motor, the speed of the motor is controlled by an electromagnetic mechanical oscillator system comprising a magnetized disc 22 secured for oscillation on a torsion wire 9 and polarized at four peripheral points 25 to 28 spaced at 90 degrees, adjacent points being of opposite polarity whereby torque forces exerted on the member 22 by magnetic fields external to the clock tend to cancel each other. The magnetized disc 22 induces signals in coils (not shown) included in an electrical oscillator circuit from which synchronizing signals are supplied to the rotor of the motor.
