Abstract

1,130,705. Synthetic detergent bars. UNILEVER Ltd. 9 Dec., 1965 [11 Dec., 1964], No. 52256/65. Heading C5D. A detergent bar of improved firmness and "slip" comprises from 30 to 70% of an alkalimetal acyl isethionate, wherein the acyl residue is derived from fatty acids having from 6-18 carbon atoms and an iodine value of less than 20 as the principal detergent component, and also contains from 2À5-17% by weight of the bar, of an alkali-metal isethionate. Other ingredients include an organic soapless detergent of the anionic type, a plasticizer and a water-soluble: higher fatty acid soap. Plasticizers include mixtures of saturated or unsaturated fatty acids having 12-25 carbon atoms; or a solid polyethylene glycol can be substituted for a part of the fatty acid plasticizer. Several anionic detergents are mentioned.
