Abstract

1300415 Soap tablets UNILEVER Ltd 14 April 1970 [16 April 1969] 19491/69 Heading C5D A soap tablet having improved lathering properties, which may contain non-soap detergent-active compounds such that the ratio of soap to the total non-soap detergent-active compound content of the soap tablet is at least 9 : 1, comprises 0À5 to 5À0% by weight of at least one C 5 -C 16 saturated aliphatic monohydric alcohol. Specified are n-pentanol, isopentanol, tert.-pentanol, n-octanol, iso-octanol, 2-ethyl hexanol, n-decanol, iso-decanol, n-dodecanol and cetyl alcohol. The soaps are alkali metal or NH 4 salts of C 8 -C 20 aliphatic carboxylic acids. Optional ingredients are superfatting agents, i.e. free fatty acids, colorants, fillers, preservatives and germicides. The tablets may contain 5 to 20% by weight of water.
