Abstract

1,129,745. Electrostatic precipitators. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. 16 June, 1966 [16 June, 1965], No. 27047/66. Heading H2H. An electrostatic precipitator 4 is fed from a frequency changer whose voltage is controlled in a known manner and whose frequency is controlled by a member 5 measuring the number of flash-overs, and if above or below a set value adjusts the frequency through a control device 6. The frequency-changer A.C. output may be rectified or added to a D.C. biasing voltage to produce a unidirectional voltage. The frequency changer may be of the static or rotary type and is preferably designed so that the leading edge of each precipitation cycle is less steep than the trailing edge.
