Abstract

1,129,613. Hydrazine. FISONS INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS Ltd. 21 March, 1966 [4 March, 1965], No. 9210/65. Heading C1A. [Also in Division C2] An aqueous solution of methyl ethyl ketazine and/or methyl ethyl ketone hydrazone or cyclohexanone azine and/or cyclohexanone hydrazone is fractionated at a pressure of 1 to 50 atmospheres gauge and a sump temperature of 100‹ to 250‹ C. and methyl ethyl ketone or cyclohexanone is obtained from the top of the column and an aqueous solution of hydrazine is obtained from the sump. A starting solution containing the equivalent of 12 to 40% by weight of methyl ethyl ketone or cyclohexanone and of 5 to 10% hydrazine may be used.
