Abstract

The invention comprises a process for producing an aqueous solution of hydrazine hydrate by fractionating an aqueous dimethyl ketozine and/or acetone hydrazone solution under superatmospheric pressure at a sump temperature between 100 DEG and 250 DEG C. and an excess pressure of 1 to 50 atmospheres, and removing acetone from the top of the column and aqueous hydrazine hydrate from the sump.
