In beer-dispensing apparatus wherein beer discharged from a container is replaced by gas admitted through a pressure reducing valve, operation of the reducing valve illuminates an advertisement. In a preferred circuit a lead extends from one mains terminal through a switch operated by a solenoid valve incorporated in the reducing valve, a suppressor, a lamp or lamps, a further suppressor, and back to another mains terminal. The advertisement may comprise a rear-illuminated panel.
