1,128,734. Derivatives of 6,11-dihydro-dibenzo-[b,e]-oxepine. C. F. BOEHRINGER & SOEHNE G.m.b.H. 19 July, 1967 [22 July, 1966], No. 33104/67. Heading C2C. Novel compounds possessing anti-cholinergic, anti-convulsive, muscle-relaxing, sedating, diuretic and/or circulatory-active properties of general formula (and acid addition salts thereof) wherein R 1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or -CF 3 radical, R 2 is a hydrogen atom or an hydroxyl group, R 3 is a hydrogen atom or, together with R 2 , represents a further valency bond, R 4 is a hydrogen atom or a straight-chain or branched alkyl radical or aralkyl radical and R 5 and R 6 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or C 1 to C 3 alkyl radicals or together form an alkylene bridge, are prepared by subjecting an appropriate 4-halo-piperidine and a dibenzo-oxepine of general formula wherein Z represents either an oxygen atom or a hydrogen atom and a halogen atom, to an organo-metallic reaction and the compound so obtained, insofar as R 2 represents an hydroxyl group, if desired, subsequently dehydrated and/ or hydrogenated.
