Abstract
1,128,370. Bearings. KARL SCHMIDT G.m.b.H. 16 March, 1966 [30 April, 1965], No. 11579/66. Heading F2A. Dirt-ejecting recesses in the form of grooves or pockets are provided either in a bearing bush or in a shaft mounted therein. The recesses are adjacent to the ends of the bearing or to the ends of the journal portion of the shaft; may be of spiral, circular or arcuate shape; and may have one exit or two exits according to whether one or both directions of rotation of the shaft is intended. In embodiments recesses 1, Fig. 1, are provided when rotation of the shaft is required in one direction and recesses 3, Fig. 2, are provided when rotation of the shaft is required in both directions. In other embodiments circular or arcuate recesses are provided.
