Abstract

1,128,106. Rheinanthrone salts. WESTMINSTER LABORATORIES Ltd. 12 May, 1967 [14 June, 1966], No. 26403/66. Addition to 1,038,721. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises the sodium and potassium salts of rheinanthrone, and their preparation by reacting rheinanthrone with the hydroxide, carbonate or bicarbonate of sodium or potassium at a pH of about 6À0. Instead of rheinanthrone there may be used a rheinanthrone concentrate, such as that described in Specification 1,038,721 obtained by hydrolysis and reduction of a senna extract containing the anthracene glycosides of senna.
