Abstract

1,127,890. Cane planter. C. C. ETWELL. 11 Sept., 1967, No. 41440/67. Heading A1D A cane planter comprises a holder 16 into which a stick of cane is fed, where it is cut into setts by a pivotally mounted knife 34 which is oscillated by means of a cam 38 driven from a furrow wheel 27, the setts being conveyed into a furrow by means of a shoot 28. The cane is fed into the holder by an operator seated in the frame and racks (not shown) are provided on either side of the holder 16 to hold a supply of cane. A number of planters may be mounted side by side to plant two furrows.
