Abstract

1,126,652. Knitting-machines. BENTLEYENGINEERING CO., Ltd. 15 Dec., 1965 [29 Dec., 1964], No. 52653/64. Heading D1C. A latch opener which also acts as a latch detector is provided in a latch needle machine and is capable of acting to open the latches of the needle during a starting course without causing the stop motion of the machine to operate. Subsequently the latch opener acts as a detector which if engaged by a needle latch causes the stop motion to operate. The opener is included in a low voltage system which is associated with means for amplifying the effect. The stop motion circuit is controlled by a pattern drum on the machine such that the circuit can be rendered operative or inoperative depending on the function of the latch opener.
