A gun mount comprises two adjustable length legs 20, 22 each having a bracket 32, 34 secured to an end as by welding, the brackets being pivoted together by a pivot pin structure 30. The brackets 32, 34 at the adjustable legs side of the pivot pin structure 30 are urged apart by a spring 36, each bracket at its end remote from the associated leg 20, 22 being provided with a concave perimeter 120, 122 such as to form a jaw 34 such that on the legs being urged apart, the jaw 34 clamps on to a forward part of the gun (Fig. 1, not shown). The legs are in two telescopic parts 37, 38 the lower or inner one 38 of which houses, in a transverse slot a spring-loaded latch 86 comprising a latch blade which co-operates with one of a series of slots in the upper or outer part 37 to lock the parts against relative movement and a thumb tab 104 by which the latch blade 88 is urged against its spring loading out of co-operation with the appropriate slot in the outer part 37. Both parts have elongated, longitudinal openings in their inwardly facing walls, the opening in the outer part accommodating the relative movement of the thumb tab 104, and a plurality of spaced holes 48 in their other walls to lighten the structure. The legs are also provided at their lower ends with feet 69. All the parts of the gun mount, i.e. the legs, brackets and feet are made from stamped sheet metal.
