Abstract

1,126,328. Stop motion. MAREMONT CORP. 29 Sept., 1965 [1 Oct., 1964], No. 41308/65. Heading DID. In a coiling device wherein a sliver 20 issueing from rollers 23, 24 passes, via a tube 42, to the rotatable inclined laying tube 28, means are provided between the portion 42 and tube 28 to rupture the sliver when the sliver can is full. Above tube 28 a wire hook 56 rotatable in a block 58 (see also Fig. 2 not shown) is located, manually spaced from the sliver as shown in Fig. 2. When a can is full a counter on the shaft of roller 23 operates an air valve (64) to come. through a piston (66), rack (62) and gear (60) hook 56 to swing sideways sweeping the sliver onto a comb 53 and then rupturing it between the comb and the rollers. The counter also interrupts the drive to the rollers by disengaging a clutch. If sliver blocks tube 42, the tube which is spring supported, moves downwardly to operate a micro-switch 49 which in turn stops the rollers 23, 24.
