Abstract

1,126,242. Stowage for inflatable life raft. FRANKENSTEIN GROUP Ltd. 11 July, 1967 [28 July, 1966], No. 33858/66. Heading B7S. A stowage for an inflatable life raft comprising rigid concave members 10, 11 with an elastic sealing strip or ring 20 between their adjoining edges 16 is subjected to an internal subatmospheric pressure. One edge is formed with a notch to accommodate a plug 24 having fixed therein a rigid link or plate 26 with connections at 28 for the painter and trip lines. One member (10) is provided with a flexible diaphragm 32 (Fig. 6), covering an aperture 29, the diaphragm protruding under action of a spring 31 if the vacuum within the, stowage is weakened or broken.
