Abstract
1,124,775. Fluidized bed apparatus. UNISEARCH Ltd. 24 Dec., 1965 [31 Dec., 1964], No. 54865/65. Heading F4B. A fluidized bed calcining reactor comprises a material inlet 31 and outlet 32, a fluidizing gas supply pipe 33 and distributing grate 35 and vertical baffles 38, 41 and 42 arranged with baffle 41 touching the grate but below the surface of the bed, thus defining a sinuous path for the charge material. When burning limestone, coal gas is supplied to the reactor, waste gases passing off through a cyclone separator 36 and pipe 37.
