Abstract

Alkyd resin paints are pigmented with a mixture of titanium dioxide and a sodium alumino-silicate having a mean particle diameter of 0.02 micron and having a pH of 6.5 to 10.5 measured in 20 wt. per cent aqueous dispersion. In examples, varying proportions of the two pigments are incorporated in a paint formulated from a vegetable drying oil-modified phthalic alkyd, CaCO3, SiO2, aluminium stearate, aliphatic solvent (364-403 DEG F.), lead and cobalt naphthenate and an oxime antioxidant.
