Abstract
1393379 Monoazo pigment in beta-modification HOECHST AG 21 July 1972 [26 July 1971] 34215/72 Heading C4P The novel #-modification of the monoazo pigment of formula which is characterized by an X-ray diffraction spectrum produced by Cu-Kα rays which shows a high intensity peak at a Bragg angle of 13À0 degrees; medium intensity peaks at Bragg angles of 5À6, 8À7, 10À4 and 11À2 degrees; and low intensity peaks at Bragg angles of 6À4, 7À6, 7À8, 8À8, 9À3, 9À85, 11À4, 11À7, 12À45, 13À4, 13À7, 14À4 and 14À7 degrees, is prepared by heating an aqueous, aqueous-organic or organic suspension of the α-modification at 125-200‹ C., optionally with the addition of a cationic or anionic surfactant, and optionally under pressure. A reddish yellow pigment is obtained, which may be used for the preparation of printing pastes and dispersion paints and for colouring natural rubber, plastic materials, natural and synthetic resins, paper, viscose, cellulose esters, polyamides, polyolefins, polyurethanes, polyacrylonitrile or polyglycol terephthalates. It may be used for pigment printing and the production of coloured spinning solutions, and especially for the production of coloured lacquers such as those based on alkyd and melamine resins.
