Abstract

1,123,283. Drinking vessels. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES Inc. 5 Jan., 1967 [6 Jan., 1966], No. 658/67. Heading A4A. [Also in Division F4] An insulating cup for a vacuum flask comprises a metal outer shell 3 and a plastics inner liner 4 having an outwardly directed flange 16 which engages the edge of the outer shell, an adhesive sealing composition 21 being provided between the upper cylindrical side wall portions of the shell and liner. The latter is formed with a screw thread 19 and the shell has grooves 10. The flange 16 has an undercut groove 17 which is filled by the sealing composition. An air space 22 between liner and shell provides additional insulation. The liner may be made of polypropylene, polystyrene or polyethylene and the shell of chromium plated steel.
