[Also in Division F2] A pressure-reducing regulator 12 is located inside and downstream of a pleated, resinimpregnated paper filter 29 is a common housing 2, 16 whose inlet 8 and outlet 3 are connected respectively to a domestic gas supply and the gas meter, and the cover 16 of the housing and a lower casing 11 together enclose the working parts of the regulator. The regulator outlet tube 9 makes a sliding seal with outlet 3, and cover 16 and regulator 12 are removable together to expose filter 29 for replacement. A diaphragm 17 of the regulator is clamped between cover 16 and casing 11 at 13, and regulator pressure is adjusted by plug 23 bearing on spring 24. In Fig. 1, cover 16 is a casting, but in Fig. 3 (not shown) the cover is pressed sheet metal to which studs are welded to attach casing 11, while the sheet cover in Fig. 4 (not shown) has an annular plate (37) brazed thereto which receives screws (39).
