Abstract

1,120,660. Desks. HOLMES BROS. (LEYTON) Ltd. 14 June, 1967, No. 27493/67. Heading A4H. A desk top comprises two parts 5, 6 hinged together, the first part 5 being slidably mounted in the frame. The upper surface of the second part 6 is used for writing and its under surface serves as a drawing board and is provided with a parallel rule (16). The second part 6 is supported in inclined position by stays (15) pivoted inside the frame. The slidable mounting of the first part 5 comprises two brackets (8) on the part 5, each having two projections 9, 10 adapted to slide in grooves (11) in the inner surfaces of the side members of the frame. The projections 9, 10 are so positioned that during sliding movement the part 5 must be held in inclined position. At the end positions of the movement the projections 10 engage in cut away portions 12, 13 in the grooves (11) and the part 5 is disposed in horizontal position.
