Abstract

1,120,527. Door handles. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 21 Sept., 1966, No. 42067/66. Heading A4U. A door handle 12 of a motor vehicle is pivoted in a recess 22 in the door. An opening of the recess enabling the fingers to be inserted behind the handle to pull it out is closed by a pivoted cover plate 23 held in position by a light spring and adapted to be deflected inwardly by the fingers. The recess 22 is formed by a base 21 mounted on the door. The external surfaces of the base, the handle and the cover plate 23 are covered by plastic panels.
