Abstract

1,119,233. Testing the extensibility of fabrics. FRYMANN & FLETCHER, Ltd. Feb. 17, 1966 [May 21, 1965], No.21537/65. Heading G1S. In apparatus for testing the extensibility of textile fabrics, the fabric is secured between clamps 3,4 clamp 3 being resiliently mounted to a board 14, and clamp 4, being mounted on a block 10 slideable along rails 5 on rotation of a lead screw 6. Clamp 3 is mounted on a block 15 secured to the board 14 by a leaf spring 20. The block 15 is further connected by a wire 19 to a load measuring meter. In use, the lead screw is rotated to move the clamps apart thus stretching the fabric, the extension for a measured load being read off a scale 13.
