[Also in Division H1] An electric current collector consists of a carbon brush which is flattened laterally at the end in contact with a variable transformer, and one or more narrow slits are cut into the contact end, perpendicular to the surface. The direction of the slits 2 may either be parallel to or inclined at a small angle a to the direction of the wires of the transformer at the point of contact.
