Abstract

1,118,259. Valves. HARZER ACHSENWERKE K.G. SCHWEMANN & ALTHOFF. 4 Oct., 1966 [4 Oct., 1965], No. 44212/66. Heading F2V. A cone-diaphragm valve, particularly for corrosive fluids, comprises a closure element 14 displaceable at right angles to a rectilinear flow path 5 by a spindle 13 and a diaphragm 8 having its marginal portion 9 firmly clamped and its central portion vulcanized to the closure element which has a frusto-conical portion 15 and a constricted neck portion 16 with an inwardly protruding projection 21 engaging a recess 20 at the end of the spindle, the element being in two parts bonded to each other after insertion of the spindle in a plane containing its axis. The element is also formed with a thrust plate 17 and its two parts are bonded with an epoxy resin while the diaphragm is provided with reinforcement 22. The valve seat has a trapezoidal cross-section in a direction at right angles to fluid flow.
