Abstract
1,118,114. Brassieres. TRIUMPH-UNIVERSA G.m.b.H. 15 Feb., 1966 [18 Feb., 1965], No. 6493/66. Heading A3V. A brassiere includes inelastic cups 1, 2 flanked by elastic panels 5, 9 and 6, 10 respectively, panels 9 and 10 being reinforced by triangular elastic panels 21. The principal direction of stretch of panels 9 and 10 is upwardly inclined relative to the lower edge of the brassiere from the rear fastening 17a, 17b towards the side edge of the cups 1, 2, the principal direction of stretch of the panels 21 being slightly more steeply inclined. In a further embodiment (not shown) the shoulder straps are elastic and extensions thereof are secured along the upper inner cup edges converging at centre front, the panels 5 and 6 being omitted. In a deepfronted brassiere, Fig. 3, the front 27 is inelastic apart from an insert 26 at each side and the reinforcing elastic panel 24 is of equilateral triangular shape.
