Abstract

1,117,845. Lift trucks. LEWIS-SHEPARD CO. 7 March, 1966 [9 March, 1965], No. 9892/66. Heading B8H. A load handling truck comprises a power driven wheeled chassis 12, 14, 16, a vertical telescopic mast fixed to the front of the chassis, and a truck body 26 supported by the upper section of the mast for vertical movement therewith. The truck body has a parent storage receptacle 54, means for supporting a detachable sterager rack (not shown) and pockets 62 for receiving removable forks 64. The truck body 26 includes an operator's platform 30 having a dead man's switch 46, steering control 42 and motor controls 44. A roller conveyer may be associated with the floor 40 of the receptacle, and a further parcel storage area may be provided by a platform extending over the open top of the receptacle 54. The storage rack is supported by means of horizontal bars thereon being received in a channel section member secured to the front wall 36 of the truck body and resting on the top surface of the body mid-wall 34. The rack bar is secured in the channel member by means of pins. The teleseopic mast is hydraulically actuated.
