Abstract

1,117,624. Sawing. K. F. RUSHTON. 12 June, 1967 [10 March, 1966], No. 10629/66. Heading B5L. A friction cutting saw comprises a circular disc 2 of metal or other suitable material formed on its periphery with a series of alternately oppositely inclined slots 3 which together form a zig-zag formation, the slots intersecting at the edges of the disc and forming between them a series of spaced cuting faces 4 of substantially half diamond shape. The disc is inwardly tapered from its outer periphery towards a parallel part 6 against which impeller shaped fans 5 are disposed to effect cooling of the saw.
